Meet the Team
Karl Perman, Founder, and President
Karl Perman is a skilled business executive with business protection, compliance, risk management, strategy, human resources, and law enforcement experience. He has created, evaluated, and implemented compliance programs for electric utilities and generation entities. He has expertise with a myriad of regulations including FERC and NERC and has served as an audit resource and subject matter expert for CIP and reliability audits. Karl is an accomplished writer having authored numerous articles for security industry publications and four books on critical infrastructure protection. He has also written a book on NERC Operations and Planning compliance.
Karl served as a law enforcement officer at the Federal and municipal levels. He also served as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. Security Magazine recognized Karl in 2011 as one of the “Most Influential People in Security”.
Most Recently, Karl has been named the National Sector Chief - DAMS Sector at InfraGard National Member Alliance.
Karl received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Public Law and Government from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s of Science in Public Safety Administration from Lewis University.
Zach Trublood, Founder and COO
Zach has spent over 20 years developing strong leadership and technical skills in Cyber Security, Risk, and Compliance. He is an expert in compliance on FERC and NERC issues. Previously, he worked with NERC on the CIP Version 5 Technical Advisory group, and then later as a member of the NERC Standards Drafting Team 2016-02, modifications to CIP Standards. He was the principal author for a number of published lessons learned for NERC as well as server of the FAQ items NERC released to aid in the transition to CIP Version 5.
Zach began his career in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician, serving as technical lead, architect, and systems administrator for various U.S. Navy and NATO communication broadcast systems. Shortly after honorably discharging from the Navy after 8 years of service, he earned a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from California State University, Sacramento. He holds a number of certifications in the cyber security industry including CISSP, CISA, and SANS GSEC.
Dr. Frank Miceli, Director, Solutions Delivery
Frank brings more than 30 years of experience providing program/product driven solutions to public and private sectors entities.
Frank is an expert in all facets of project evaluation, planning, designing, and implementing, integrating technology best practices with compliance program requirements. Frank has worked across multiple compliance areas including NERC CIP, FERC, DSS-PCI, SOC 1 and 2, AT101, and SAS 70. Moreover, Frank has taught SOX requirements as a Professor of Business Ethics for the Concordia MBA program.
Clients have included Oracle Corporation, Conoco Phillips, Southwest Airlines, State of California and the State of Texas. He has also held C Level positions for multinational companies.
Frank holds a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University. This innovative program provides advanced studies in economics, data analysis, program management, compliance, and law and policy. He also achieved a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) from the University of Texas Austin. The MSTC is an elite Entrepreneurial MBA with practices in developing technical and business solutions from concept to delivery. While most scholarship is under the auspices of the IC² institute and the McCombs School of Business, additional studies are provided by the Cockrell School of Engineering and the University of Texas School of Law.
Frank holds a Master Certification in Project Management, Villanova University, undergraduate degrees in Business and Physics, is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMI) and a Six Sigma Black Belt.
